The government won't cancel the 30-baht health care scheme but instead enhance it, the National Health Security Office (NHSO) said.
Assurance of the health care scheme came as there was rumour that it would be scrapped by the government, due to the huge burden that it has to shoulder.
But the NHSO spokesman Attaporn Limpanyalert dismissed the rumour as untrue and assured instead that the government would enhance it by increasing more benefits.
He insisted that the general public would continue to receive medical treatments under this scheme as usual.
But he said the scheme would be enhanced as the government has recently approved more health security budget for fiscal 2018, adding 87.45 baht more per capita to allow for an increase in health care benefits.
