Floods in many southern provinces have forced the State Railways of Thailand to end the rail services to the deep South at just Surat Thani railway station.
Several sections of the southern rail route are still submerged as unsafe to proceed further from Surat Thani.
Railway officials at Surat Thani railway station said all trains from Bangkok to Nakhon Si Thammarat and Kantang arrived at Surat Thani station this morning but could not go further due to floods on the rail routes to Thung Song railway station.
Forced to end the service at Surat Thani railway station were Rapid Train 173 from Bangkok to Nakhon Si Thammarat, Rapid Train 167 from Bangkok to Kantang, Express Train 85 from Bangkok to Nakhon Si Thammarat.
It was not immediately known when normal train services to destination beyond Surat Thani could be resumed.
