Min Buri: The court has granted bail to a 28-year-old pregnant woman, Ms. Worawan, who is accused in an assault case resulting in death. The decision was influenced by her pregnancy and her cooperation with the authorities.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Col. Sompot Thongmoon, the Superintendent of Min Buri Police Station, reported that Ms. Worawan, also known as Mayu, was taken to the Min Buri Criminal Court by the police for an initial detention order. Her relatives secured her temporary release by posting a cash bond of 150,000 baht. During the proceedings, Ms. Worawan expressed her intention to seek forgiveness from the victim's family.
The court decided to grant bail considering she is eight months pregnant and close to giving birth. Ms. Worawan had surrendered herself to the police following the incident, showing cooperation and repentance. The investigator in charge did not oppose the bail request, noting that she posed no flight risk and was not an influential figure in the area.
