Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and the military are now set for the "Big Cleaning Day" tomorrow and Thursday.
Deputy First Army Region commander Maj Gen Pongsawat Pannachit said that the Big Cleaning Day at Sanam Luang and the Grand Palace was scheduled on December 1 and 2.
He said the BMA would start deploying its 80 officials as well as sewage trucks, water trucks and fire trucks from BMA's Fire and Rescue Department to clean up the sewage pipe around the Grand Palace and Sanam Luang.
The cleanup would be done at eight locations, starting after 9pm of November 30 until the operation was completed.
The Bureau of the Royal Household has earlier announced the closure of the Grand Palace for visits by tourists and for mourning on December 1-2.
The BMA will black out lights at Sanam Luang at 10.00pm tonight and all people and mourners are requested to leave the places from 9.00pm tonight.
