Case of ‘Sor.Jor. Golf’ and Associates Assaulting Border Patrol Police Sent to Prosecutor

Bangkok: Crime Suppression Division police have forwarded the case against 'SAO Golf' and his group of 10 individuals, who allegedly attacked a Border Patrol Police officer at a polling station, to the prosecutor. Their actions are suspected to have been premeditated, and they could face prosecution even if they were not physically present at the crime scene.

According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Gen. Thanayut Wutticharatthamrong, a special advisor to the Royal Thai Police, along with Crime Suppression Division investigators, have submitted the case file of Mr. Siradanai, also known as Sgt. Golf, and 10 others to Mr. Sanchai Chanphong, Attorney General of the Office of Criminal Litigation, for legal review. The comprehensive file, consisting of over 2,000 sheets, purportedly demonstrates that the suspects orchestrated the attack by ordering other individuals, even from afar. The police claim to have evidence linking them to the allocation of tasks, establishing that they assaulted officers on duty at the polling station. The authorities are confident in their ability to prosecute the suspects.

While one suspect remains at large, the police have requested an arrest warrant from the court and dispatched a team to locate them, expecting an imminent capture. The statute of limitations for this case is 10 years.

Additionally, provincial assemblyman Golf and other suspects are being prosecuted for their involvement in online gambling websites, an investigation led by the Cyber Police. Arrest warrants have been issued for 20 individuals associated with these gambling operations, with six arrests already made.

Mr. Sanchai Chanphong, Attorney General of the Criminal Litigation Office, stated after receiving the investigation report that the document will be forwarded to the responsible prosecutor for review and opinion before the detention period concludes, as the case holds public interest. The decision to establish a working group will be considered further.
