Chiang Mai struck by minor tremors

Chiang Mai was twice struck by tremors measuring at 2-4.2 magnitudes on the Richter scale on Sunday afternoon but there were no damages.

The Office of Public Disasters Prevention and Mitigation said that the first tremor, measuring at 2 magnitude was detected at 1.24 pm with its epic centre at about one kilometer deep in Mae Wang district.

It was followed by a second tremor measuring at 4.2 magnitude at 3.35 pm in Chom Thong district.

The earthquake detection station in Chiang Mai said that minor tremors would take place every day during this period of time in Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai provinces, but they are not serious and the public should not panic with this natural happenings.
