CJ Foodville, the restaurant arm of food and entertainment conglomerate CJ Group, said Monday its bakery franchise Tous les Jours will open its first outlet in Singapore within this year. CJ Foodville has signed a master franchise contract with Royal T Group, the parent firm of a variety of food and beverage brands, to expand the bakery outlets in Singapore, the company said in a statement. Under a master franchise deal, the master franchisor allows the master franchisee not only to open franchise units itself in a specified area but also to sub-franchise them to third parties. The Tous les Jours brand currently operates about 450 outlets in seven countries, including the United States, Canada, Indonesia and Vietnam, and aims for expansion in Southeast Asian markets this year.
