Bangkok: The Department of Rural Roads has officially denied any contractual relationship with China Railway Number 10 (Thailand) Co., Ltd., addressing misinformation circulating on social media. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Montree Dechasakulsom, Director-General of the Department of Rural Roads, clarified the situation following reports that the Department had been involved with China Railway Number 10 (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in two projects in Suphan Buri, with budgets of 10.7 million baht and 9.9 million baht. The Suphan Buri Rural Highways District conducted an investigation and confirmed that no contract exists between them and the aforementioned company. The confusion appears to have stemmed from the use of a joint venture name in project bidding. The TPC Joint Venture, previously associated with China Railway Number 10 (Thailand) Co., Ltd., is not the same entity contracted for the Suphan Buri projects. The latter TPC Joint Venture involves Tawee Choti Construction Co., Ltd. and Tawee Phon Phatth ana Construction Co., Ltd., responsible for two projects in the 2023 fiscal year. The first project, identified as Contract No. 20/2023, involves Road No. S.P.4033, connecting Highway No. 3502 junction to Ban Nong Luang in Nong Ya Sai District, with a budget of 9,985,000 baht. The contract commenced on December 27, 2022, and concluded on March 26, 2023. The second project, Contract No. 21/2566, covers Road No. S.P.3043 from Highway No. 333 intersection to Ban Thung Yai in Dan Chang District, with a budget of 10,795,000 baht, running from December 27, 2022, to March 16, 2023.
