A group of 98 disabled people asked the Civil Court to order Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to install an elevator at every station of the BTS rapid train system.
A lawsuit was filed with the Civil Court on Friday accusing BMA of not installing elevator at every station of the BTS system except for three stations and of failing to find parking space for disabled people.
Mr Thirayut Sukhonthavit, chairman of the Transport for All network of disabled people, said they had to sue the BMA because the latter had ignored the Administrative Court's order two years ago for it to provide convenience to disabled people so that they could have access to the BTS service, particularly to install an elevator in all the BTS stations.
The group also demanded 361,000 baht in compensation for each of the 98 disabled people for committing wrongful act against them.
