Bangkok: 'THAIFEX - ANUGA ASIA 2025', the world-class food trade platform, is back to being the biggest and most comprehensive in Asia, set to be held from May 27-31, expected to drive the economy by 98 billion.

According to Thai News Agency, the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, together with the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Koelnmesse Germany, announced the organization of the largest and most comprehensive food and beverage trade fair in Asia, 'THAIFEX - ANUGA ASIA 2025' on May 27-31, 2025, at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani. The event will be open for business negotiations for all five days, with the public invited to visit and purchase products on the final day.

Ms. Sunantha Kangwalkulkij, Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion, revealed that the government is continuously advancing the policy of 'Thai Kitchen to the World Kitchen' to elevate the Thai food industry to international levels and to promote Thailand as the regional food hub. During this event, Thai entrepreneurs have organized more than 700 activities, aiming to create a total trade value of more than 92 billion baht and assist over 260,000 entrepreneurs. The initiative is supported by 58 commercial attaches who are actively monitoring the trade situation. The Thai SELECT project, with 1,779 locations worldwide, has been enhanced by updating the certification criteria to a star system using the orchid symbol.

'THAIFEX - ANUGA ASIA is a crucial mechanism to drive the department's mission by providing an opportunity for Thai entrepreneurs to showcase their potential, negotiate business, and learn about global industry trends. The event will feature new products, technologies, and innovations, along with educational activities, workshops, and international competitions, all of which will help increase Thailand's competitiveness on the world stage,' said Ms. Sunantha.

For THAIFEX - ANUGA ASIA 2025, there has been a positive response and increased interest from the previous year, with a total of 3,233 exhibitors and 6,205 booths from Thailand and more than 56 countries worldwide. The event will display a complete range of products, including beverages, ready-to-eat foods, food technology, frozen foods, vegetables and fruits, meat, rice, seafood, and snacks. It is anticipated that there will be over 90,000 trade visitors from around the world throughout the five days, with an estimated value of immediate and future purchases exceeding 98 billion baht.

Dr. Kritsana Wachikrailas, Vice Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, stated that THAIFEX - ANUGA ASIA is an essential platform providing opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs to expand their food and beverage markets internationally. Thailand currently ranks 12th globally in food exports, with 2025 exports expected to reach 1,750,000 million baht, marking a 6.8 percent increase from the previous year. This aligns with the 'Thai Kitchen to the World' policy, which aims to position Thailand as the world's food export hub.

As the world's fourth-largest food industry exhibition, THAIFEX - ANUGA ASIA plays a significant role in driving the Thai F and B business, including SMEs, start-ups, and large companies, to connect with importers, buyers, and business partners globally. This year, it is expected that 1,184 Thai entrepreneurs will participate, with more than 500 being SMEs, highlighting Thailand's potential in product development and international market expansion. Over 2,000 international entrepreneurs from regions such as East Asia, ASEAN, Europe, the United States, Latin America, and Africa will also participate.

This year, THAIFEX - ANUGA ASIA 2025 emphasizes connecting Thai entrepreneurs with megatrends in the food and beverage industry, such as Plant-Based, Sustainable Products, Functional Foods, and organic agricultural products, which are gaining popularity in Europe and China. Entrepreneurs will have opportunities to present new product innovations that meet the rapidly changing needs of global consumers and can be effectively expanded into the international market.

Dr. Kritsana noted the success of past events, mentioning an SME entrepreneur who, despite starting with a small booth, won the THAIFEX - ANUGA tasteInnovation Award from THAIFEX - ANUGA ASIA 2024. This award facilitated a successful deal with a buyer from India, demonstrating that THAIFEX - ANUGA ASIA is not only a business negotiation platform but also a source of inspiration and new opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs to enter the global market.

This year's event welcomed returning industry leaders from Asia Pacific, Europe, North America, and the Middle East, while also introducing new exhibitors from Central Asia, Africa, and Eastern Europe, such as Slovenia, Kyrgyzstan, and Slovakia. All booths were fully booked in advance, with a rising waiting list, underscoring the high demand for space and reaffirming the show's importance as a key source of products and trend indicators for the region.

New pavilions from Australia, Hong Kong, and the Netherlands will be featured this year to expand purchasing opportunities for buyers across Asia Pacific.

Special and supporting activities this year will focus on showcasing innovations through specialized exhibitions, such as the THAIFEX - ANUGA tasteInnovation Show, THAIFEX - ANUGA Startup, THAIFEX - ANUGA Trend Zone in collaboration with Innova Market Insights, Future Food Experience+, Alternative Protein Taste and Flavour Challenge, and Halal and Organic Product Zones. These activities reflect the trend of goal-driven innovations in AI technology, plant-based nutrition, and healthy foods that support sleep, brain function, and overall quality of life.
