Prof. Jintanaporn Wattanathorn, M.D., Ph.D., Acting Director of the Institute for Human High Performance and Health Promotion of Khon Kaen University explained that the principle of business and innovations for health foods involves a lot of steps such as research studies, innovations, business planning, marketing, all of which necessitate learning from experts. The Faculty of Medicine and the Institute for Human High Performance and Health Promotion of Khon Kaen University possess bodies of knowledge and researchers who have expertise. Collaboration with the private sector with expertise in businesses would integrate research outcomes and business effectively in order to develop the food industry that will benefit the patients, relatives and the society in a broad circle.
“This collaboration will open up a chance for our academics to acquire more knowledge and build an environment that puts the research outcomes into real use. Students and researchers will be encouraged to have confidence about the capital sources. Some projects require a private organization to join in order to succeed. Some projects set the indicator for a private sector’s collaboration. This means we are fulfilling what the other side lacks. When the product reaches the consumer, the private sector will assist in considering the break-even point. As a result, we can be certain of the appropriate return. This point is more elaborate than the work of researchers. Both researchers and business people have our own specific capacity. When integrated, a lot of values will emerge,” said the Acting Director of the Institute for Human High Performance and Health Promotion of Khon Kaen University.
