The Meteorological Department again warned of freak storms in more areas in the North and Northeast from today until Sunday.
It told people to avoid staying in open areas, under big trees and unstable huge billboards during the torrential rain and thunderstorms.
The latest warning was issued at 5.00am on Thursday telling the people in affected areas in the North and Northeast to brace for the freak storms which are expected from today until Sunday.
The rainstorms will come with lightnings, strong winds, and in some areas with hails.
Later the freak storms will cover the easthern and central regions, including Bangkok.
It said the provinces will be affected by freak storms first from May 4-5 are Nan, Uttaradit, Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Loei, Nong Bualampoo, Nong Khai, Bung Kan, Sakhon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, Ubon Ratchathani, Prachinburi, and Srakaew in the North and Northeast.
Meanwhile from May 5-7, the storms will hit the eastern and central regions, including Bangkok and its satellite provinces.
Latest weather warning will be issued before noon today, it added.
