Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning that the North and Central regions will experience extremely hot weather in some areas. Residents are advised to take precautions to protect their health due to the hot to very hot conditions. The South is expected to encounter thunderstorms in certain areas, while Bangkok and its vicinity will generally experience hot weather with a 10% chance of thunderstorms.
According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department has provided a forecast for the next 24 hours. The prediction indicates that Thailand will generally face hot to very hot conditions in parts of the North and Central regions, with potential thunderstorms and strong gusty winds in some areas. Residents in these regions are encouraged to avoid prolonged outdoor activities to safeguard their health and to remain cautious of the dangers presented by thunderstorms and strong winds. This weather pattern is attributed to low pressure from heat affecting the upper part of Thailand, combined with the influence of southern and southwestern winds over these regions.
In the South, the presence of southeasterly winds over the Gulf of Thailand, the South, and the Andaman Sea is expected to cause thunderstorms in some areas. In the Andaman Sea, wave heights are anticipated to reach approximately 1 meter, with higher waves of over 2 meters in storm-affected areas. Sailors in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are advised to steer clear of regions experiencing thunderstorms.
Weather conditions are also impacting dust accumulation during this period. The northern and northeastern regions are experiencing moderate to high levels of dust and smog due to weak to moderate winds covering these areas.
In Bangkok and its surrounding areas, residents can expect generally hot weather with a 10% chance of thunderstorms. The minimum temperature is predicted to be between 27-29 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature could reach 36-38 degrees Celsius.
