Thammanat Prompao, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, visited the flood situation in Chanthaburi and Trat provinces after continuous rain in Pi Thawi sub-district for the past 2 days resulted in flash floods and flooding of houses, agricultural areas in 12 villages, affecting approximately 1,500 people in 600 households and 1 death. The damage caused by the flash floods included 4 bridges and 3 square culverts. Government agencies and the Chanthaburi Red Cross Society have come together to provide 50 relief bags and 1,000 packages of drinking water to those affected by the flood, as well as financial assistance for the funeral rites of Mr. Kittisak and Ms. Warunee, who lost their 11-year-old daughter to the flood disaster. Lt. Col. Thammanat said that he emphasized ordering the deputy director-general of the Royal Irrigation Department to oversee water management in the two provinces by learning from Trat Province, which had problems in the water situation prevention and resolution system. In the past, he has ordered the deputy director-general to seriously supervise the area and closely monitor the water situation during this period.
