Bangkok: No arrest warrant has been issued for actress Due Arisara, allowing her to travel freely into Thailand. Deputy Commander of the Crime Suppression Division confirmed that the ongoing embezzlement case involving Ms. Arisara is reliant on the actions of Ms. Wasana Inthasang, also known as May, as the case can be resolved through settlement. According to Thai News Agency, the embezzlement allegations stem from a complaint filed by lawyer Mr. Attachai Jaeng-arun on behalf of Ms. Wasana. The complaint accuses Ms. Arisara Thongborisut, known professionally as Due, of borrowing luxury bags and accessories valued at over 62 million baht and subsequently pawning them without permission. Pol. Col. Anek Taosuphap explained that the return of the items can be managed between the involved parties without police intervention. Should Ms. Wasana choose not to pursue charges, she can retract her complaint, potentially closing the case through mutual agreement. Without a settlement, Ms. Arisara faces potential penalti es including a three-year prison sentence or a fine not exceeding 60,000 baht. Ms. Arisara's lawyer has publicly asserted her innocence, clarifying that her current absence from Thailand is due to business commitments rather than an attempt to evade legal proceedings. With no arrest warrant issued, she is free to return to Thailand and continue her daily activities unimpeded, with the option to arrange a meeting with investigators as needed. Pol. Col. Anek further noted that other allegations, such as those concerning illegal detention discussed on a recent TV show, have not resulted in any formal complaints. The Crime Suppression Division remains focused solely on the embezzlement case at this time. He emphasized that in embezzlement cases, it is not unusual for victims to retract complaints after partial restitution. The final decision rests with Ms. Wasana regarding how she wishes to proceed with the case.
