The law governing online business is now in force after it was published in the Royal Gazette and released publicly yesterday.
The law, Announcement 44 issued by the Central Committee on Prices of Goods and Services, requires all online operators to display prices of their goods and services, including details of types, sizes, weights on their websites clearly.
Prices of goods to be displayed must be per unit and shown in Arabic numerals.
Details of goods and services must be in Thai language. But second language is also permitted to be shown or displayed online.
In case of the collection of extra expenses in addition to prices of goods and services, operators must also display clearly of the details of the expenses.
Retail prices of goods and services displayed must be same as prices that are sold online. However this will not apply to the case which operators sell goods or services lower than the displayed prices.
