A predawn fire at a residential community behind Wat Khuha Sawan Woraviharn temple broke out early Tuesday morning, gutting 13 wooden houses.
According to Phasi Charoen police, nobody was injured in the fire that happened at about 1am in the middle of the densely community comprising of over 100 wooden houses behind the temple on Soi Phetkasem 28.
A dozen fire trucks arrived at the scene but faced difficulties in reaching the community as the alleys were narrow.
However firefighters were able to put the fire under control when they used mobile extinguishers and extended water hoses to the fire scene.
13 houses were burned to ashes.
The cause of the fire was being inspected by forensic police.
The fire left several families homeless prompted Phasi Charoen district and the temple officials to arrange temporary shelters at the temple for them.
