Russian drug suspect wanted in Russia arrested in Pattaya after three years in hiding

Immigration police have arrested a Russian national who they said is one of the world's most wanted drug dealers, in Pattaya.

The suspect, Mr Dmitry Filipsin, 27, was arrested yesterday at a condominium room at Mooban Dusit View in Pattaya.

He was arrested on an international arrest warrant after three years on the run.

During the search of the condominium room after his hideout was located, Filipsin produced arresting officers a Ukrainian passport.

But the passport was cross checked with the Ukrainian Consulate and found to be false.

He was then charged for possessing and using a fake passport and will now be processed for deportation.

Filipsin, wanted in his homeland in Russia on a major drug charge was arrested in Bang Lamung district, where he has been in hiding for over three years.

Following the arrest warrant, immigration police launched a hunt for the the man and later learned that he lived in a house in Tambon Huay Yai of Bang Lamung district with his Russian wife.
