Phatthalung: Thousands of people and border patrol police attended the funeral ceremony for a father and son, both teachers of the Border Patrol Police, who were victims of a bomb attack by insurgents in Narathiwat Province.
According to Thai News Agency, at a house in Klong Sai Khao Subdistrict, Kong Ra District, Phatthalung Province, a funeral ceremony was held for Pol. Lt. Col. Suwit Chuaythewarit, headmaster of the Border Patrol Police School in Ban Tueng Ngo, Si Banphot Subdistrict, Si Sakhon District, Narathiwat Province, and Pol. Sgt. Dom Chuaythewarit, 'Kuruthayat', his son, who died in a bombing incident on the Si Sakhon-Luboh Yuering Road near Ban Ai Kue Dae yesterday (January 14). The bodies of both were buried about 100 meters away from the house as previously announced. Thousands of fellow police officers, villagers, and government officials attended the funeral ceremony.
The wife of Pol. Lt. Col. Suwit expressed that her husband had gone to a good place and had fulfilled his duty without asking for a transfer from the Border Patrol Police School, Ban Tueng Ngo, despite having the opportunity. His dedication stemmed from his love for the people of Sri Sakhon District and a desire for the children there to receive a good education. However, the tragic incident cut his mission short.
