Security plan for Deep South to be readjusted following Pattani’s bomb explosion

Security plan for the three restive southernmost provinces is to be readjusted following a bomb explosion in Pattani's Muang municipal area on Monday which left two civilians killed and about 20 injured.

Deputy Defence Minister General Udomdej Seetabutr, in his capacity as the head of the committee to resolve security-related problems, said that he had raised the bombing issue and the need to readjust security plan for consideration by committee members.

The meeting, he added, agreed to readjust security plan, particularly to make sure that there won't be bombing incidents on main roads in the Deep South.

The deputy defence minister further said that special representatives of the government would make more inspection trips to the restive region to hear first-hand reports of the situation from authorities concerned.
