A 50-year-old construction worker died at the camp site in Samut Prakan province last night after drinking liquor to keep warm.
The worker, a resident from Loei province, was found dead on his bed in the construction camp site in Bang Bo district.
Witnesses said the worker known only as Adisorn was a heavy drinker. He complained of cold before going out to buy liquor to keep warm.
Doctor said he might die of coldness as the temperature dropped sharply last night.
Meanwhile another villager in Chalerm Phrakiat district of Buriram province also died of coldness in his makeshift hut.
Police said it was believed that he drank liquor to keep his body warm, but succumbed to death from shock after his body could not adapt to sharp fall in temperature last night.
