SOLDIER, DEFENCE VOLUNTEERS INJURED IN BOMB EXPLOSION IN THAILAND

PATTANI, Thailand -- A bomb explosion injured one soldier and five defence volunteers in the violence-plagued province of Pattani on Wednesday, Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.

Six officials from a special army ranger unit were ambushed while they were patrolling a road in Nong Chik district.

The patrol was there to provide security before an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team and police officers from Nong Chik police station were due to pass the route to gather evidence at the site near Baan Sai-mor School, where two surveillance cameras had been torched.

All of them were injured and sent to Nong Chik Hospital.
