Suvarnabhumi welcomes Chinese tourists on Chinese New Year with orange soap as souvenirs

Suvarnabhumi Airport yesterday organised a welcoming ceremony in the theme of Chinese New Year for passengers arriving on Thai Airways flights from Shanghai in the bid to create an impressive moment in visiting the country.

Passengers arriving on the flight were given soap in the orange form as souvenirs and as a blessing of fortune and luck.

Airport staff in Chinese traditional costumes were also on hand to welcome passengers arriving on board the THAI flight from Shanghai.

The airport reported that various airlines have asked to increase the number of flights between January 23-February 5 by another 345 flights, during which the airport is expecting to see around 2.5 million passenger arriving.

The airport also advised outbound passengers to arrive at the airport two hours earlier than their flight time for domestic flights and at least three hours earlier for international flights as traffic at the airport will be very crowded during the Chinese New Year festival.
