The Thai National Shippers Council (TNSC) said Thai exports in April rose by 8.49% year-on-year to US$16.8 billion.
But for the first four months, Thai exports grew 5.69% from a year earlier.
It is expected to grow by 3.5% in 2017 on the back of a 25% increase in global oil prices.
Contributing factors on the growth were attributed to the Thai economic conditions which showed steady expansion in April.
The economic expansion reflected a growth in exports and private consumption, an increase in income among farmers, and higher number of foreign tourists arriving in Thailand.
