A 43-year old Thai woman who assaulted and then stomped her live-in Singaporean boyfriend to death was on Thursday sentenced to five and a half years imprisonment for culpable homicide
A permanent resident in Singapore, Sukanya Praphuttha pleaded guilty to killing 55-year old Lee Yang Boo by using her right foot to stomp the left side of his head at their North Bridge Road apartment.
Sukanya and Lee had lived together at the rented flat for seven years and had a rough relationship marked often with quarrels and, at times, physical fights.
On the night of Feb 28, 2015, the couple went drinking with friends at a nightclub. There, Lee scolded her for dancing with a male stranger.
Back home, after more drinks, the couple quarreled Lee accused Sukanya of having a sexual relationship with the stranger at the club. But she eventually placated him and put him to bed.
Later, Lee suddenly woke up and continued hurling vulgarities at Sukanya and her parents. Fighting ensued and eventually led to Lee being stomped.
She put him onto the bed and after noticing him having breathing difficulty, sought help from neighbor who called the police.
Lee was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
