Udon Thani: An audacious robbery took place in the heart of a shopping mall in Udon Thani Province, where a thief wearing a rider's shirt and helmet stole 30 gold necklaces. The police are actively searching for the suspect involved in the heist.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident was witnessed around 7 pm when a man, dressed in a rider's shirt, long pants, sneakers, and a black full-face helmet, made a swift escape down an escalator and out of the mall. Despite efforts from mall employees and security guards to stop him, the perpetrator managed to flee the scene.
The 191 radio center in Udon Thani Province reported that the robbery occurred at a gold shop on the second floor of the mall located on the Udon Thani-Sakon Nakhon ring road. The suspect, wielding a fake gun, intimidated the shop's four employees before smashing the glass display with a hammer to seize 30 gold necklaces, valued at 1,600,000 baht. An employee recounted that the robber had a bag, a gun, and a hammer. As the robbery unfolded, the employee attempted to pursue the thief but was thwarted when the suspect discarded the gun and fled on a yellow Honda Click motorcycle with no visible license plate.
Authorities are currently analyzing CCTV footage to determine the suspect's escape route. Police are determined to apprehend the individual responsible for this brazen act in such a public setting.
