Three main rural roads in the South still impassable

The Department of Rural Roads reported today that a total of 125 roads in 12 southern provinces under its supervision were submerged by the devastating floodings but now almost all are passable except three.

It said 125 roads in Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala, Phatthalung, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Krabi, Songkhla, Ranong, Prachuap Khiri Khan were flooded, but 122 of them were back to normal and are passable.

Only three roads are still impassable as two are under 80-110 cm deep of flood water, and another which its bridge approach slab was washed away by flashflood.

The damaged bridge is still under repair, it said and added that more information on the passable roads could be obtained from calling Tel 1146.
