Kanchanaburi: A devastating accident on the U Thong-Kanchanaburi road has resulted in the deaths of three family members and left two others seriously injured. The tragic incident occurred when a pickup truck, carrying a family returning from a birthday celebration, suffered a tire burst, causing the vehicle to lose control and crash into an electric pole.
According to Thai News Agency, the accident took place as the family was heading towards Nong Khao Subdistrict in the Tha Muang District of the Kanchanaburi Province. The pickup truck's right rear tire blew out, leading the driver, Mr. Nattawut, aged 29, to lose control, causing the vehicle to spin and collide with a high-voltage electric pole. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the family trapped inside the wreckage.
Tragically, both Mr. Nattawut and his wife, Ms. Suphansa, were found deceased in the front seats of the vehicle. Their eldest child, Max, aged 11, also succumbed to injuries despite attempts to revive him through CPR at Phaholyothin Hospital. The couple's youngest child, a 1-year-old girl named Haru, and their middle child, Mark, aged 9, were critically injured and rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.
The family had been returning home from a celebratory dinner in Kanchanaburi city when the accident occurred. Witnesses reported hearing a loud noise, similar to a tire bursting, shortly before the vehicle veered out of control and struck the pole. The tragic accident has left the community in shock, with family members grieving the sudden loss of their loved ones.
