Villagers in Chong Bok Anxiously Await Outcome of Prolonged JBC Meeting

Chong Bok: Villagers in the Chong Bok area of Ubon Ratchathani Province are deeply concerned about the ongoing JBC meeting and are urging the involved countries to swiftly find a mutual resolution.

According to Thai News Agency, the atmosphere at the Dom Pradit Subdistrict Administrative Organization in Nam Yuen District, the administrative center of Dom Pradit Village, has been bustling as people deliver supplies to soldiers and villagers. Following news that the JBC meeting concluded its first day, villagers from Dom Pradit, located near the canal, have been gathering in groups to discuss the situation.

Residents of Dom Pradit have expressed feelings of tension and concern regarding the current circumstances. Their hope is for a peaceful resolution through negotiation, as they fear potential violence could severely impact those living along the border.

In Village No. 3, Ban Non Sung, Tambon Dom Pradit, Amphoe Nam Yuen, locals who watched the live broadcast of the meeting voiced their worries about the upcoming negotiations. They hope for a successful outcome that will allow all parties to coexist peacefully. The villagers are prepared to evacuate if necessary but stress the importance of preventing any escalation of the situation.

Despite the ongoing concerns, villagers in Tambon Dom Pradit, the area nearest to Chong Bok, continue with their daily lives, having begun to adapt to the circumstances. They call on both countries to collaborate in finding a sustainable solution.
