Chaiyaphum: Praise is being directed towards a 26-year-old man who, even in death, extended the lives of nine individuals through the donation of his organs. Mr. Panthakrat Sodsungnoen, known as Nong Fax, worked as a patient assistant in the Infection Control and Prevention Nursing Group at Phu Khiao Chaloem Phrakiat Hospital. His life was tragically cut short following a motorcycle accident on April 15th, leading to brain stem death as diagnosed by doctors at Chaiyaphum Hospital.
According to Thai News Agency, the medical professionals at Chaiyaphum Hospital observed that Nong Fax's body was at a fully developed age and suggested organ donation as a charitable act. His family agreed, donating several organs including a liver, two kidneys, two eyes, and a heart valve, which were successfully transplanted to save and improve the lives of nine patients.
Nong Fax passed away on April 21, 2025, after which the hospital conducted the necessary operations to harvest the organs. Today, many have gathered, including family, friends, and colleagues, at the Pa Phu Khieo Forest Monastery in Tambon Pak Pang, Amphoe Phu Khieo, to perform religious rites and honor Nong Fax's legacy of generosity. His decision to donate has been met with widespread admiration and gratitude, highlighting the impact of his selfless act.
