Bangkok: The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rain in certain areas of the Northeast and East. Heavy rain is anticipated in parts of the North and Central regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity. Tropical Storm "Bualoi" is expected to make landfall in northern Vietnam between September 28 and 29.
According to Thai News Agency, the Meteorological Department forecasts increased rainfall over the next 24 hours, with isolated heavy to very heavy rain expected particularly in the provinces of Phitsanulok, Phetchabun, Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram, Chanthaburi, and Trat. Moreover, some areas of the Northern and Central regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity, will experience heavy rain. Residents in upper Thailand are advised to be vigilant of the dangers posed by heavy to very heavy rainfall and accumulated rainfall, which could result in flash floods, forest runoff, and river bank overflows, especially on hillsides near waterways, lowlands, and flooded areas. This weather pattern is attributed to a strong monsoon trough passing through the lower Northern and Northeastern regions, entering a low-pressure area over the central South China Sea, coupled with a moderate southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thaila nd.
The Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are expected to witness moderate to quite strong waves. The upper Andaman Sea will have waves approximately 2 meters high, with higher waves in areas experiencing thunderstorms. The lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand will have waves between 1-2 meters high, reaching approximately 2 meters in thunderstorm areas. Mariners are advised to exercise caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.
In addition, the potent tropical storm "Bualoi" in the central South China Sea is projected to make landfall in northern Vietnam on September 28-29, 2025.

The Central region will have thunderstorms covering 70% of the area, with heavy rain in some areas of Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Lop Buri, Saraburi, and Kanchanaburi provinces. The minimum temperature will range from 24-26 degrees Celsius, with a maximum of 32-34 degrees Celsius. Southwesterly winds will be 10-25 km/h.
In the Eastern region, thunderstorms will cover 80% of the area, with heavy to very heavy rain in some areas of Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat provinces. The minimum temperature will be 23-26 degrees Celsius, with a maximum temperature of 27-32 degrees Celsius. Southwesterly winds will be 15-35 km/h, with sea waves 1-2 meters high and exceeding 2 meters in areas with thunderstorms.
Southern Thailand (east coast) will see thunderstorms in 40% of the area, mostly in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, and Surat Thani provinces. The minimum temperature will be 23-26 degrees Celsius, with a maximum of 32-34 degrees Celsius. From Surat Thani province upwards, southwesterly winds will range from 15-35 km/hr, with waves 1-2 meters high and approximately 2 meters high in thunderstorm areas. From Nakhon Si Thammarat province downwards, southwesterly winds will be 15-30 km/hr, with waves 1 meter high and 1-2 meters high in thunderstorm areas.
The Southern region (west coast) will experience thunderstorms in 40% of the area, with heavy rain in some areas of Ranong and Phang Nga provinces. The minimum temperature will be 24-27 degrees Celsius, with a maximum of 30-33 degrees Celsius. From Phuket province upwards, southwesterly winds will range from 20-35 km/hr, with waves approximately 2 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, waves will be higher than 2 meters. From Krabi province downwards, southwesterly winds will be 15-35 km/hr, with waves 1-2 meters high and approximately 2 meters high in thunderstorm areas.
Bangkok and surrounding areas will experience thunderstorms with an 80% chance of rain and heavy rain in some areas. The minimum temperature will be 25-26 degrees Celsius, with a maximum of 31-33 degrees Celsius. Southwesterly winds will be 10-25 km/h.
