Today (1st December 2016), the Ministry of Labour's officials and officers joined in the Big Cleaning Day around Sanam Luang and the Royal Palace, where they facilitated and took care of the people joining in the event. The Bangkok Governor chaired the commencement of the Big Cleaning Day which kicked-off at 08.00 hours. Participants stood before the Thai flag together, in silence for 89 seconds and sang the royal anthem in commemoration of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. From there participants separated into different activities over 15 zones; 7 around Sanam Luang and 8 around the Royal Palace. Participants collected rubbish, swept the roads, cleaned drains and tents where people paying respect to the late King wait.
